Thirty Thanksgiving Dress Ideas
Photos by Dominique Phillips Photography
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I'm counting down the days to the cheesy mashed potatoes and stuffing! We've got just over two weeks until Turkey Day which leaves plenty of time to nail down the perfect Thanksgiving Day outfit.
I like my Thanksgiving outfits to make a 'FUSS:' to be Forgiving, Unfussy, Seasonal, and Stylish. A cute dress is the easiest path to all of those things. One piece to put on, one piece to pack, one piece to flow right on over that pumpkin pie tummy! (Seriously, a personal priority!)
I pulled twenty such dress options for your most comfy chic Thanksgiving yet! And, because I love y'all and totally geek out over this stuff, I included some shoe suggestions at the end of the post to complete your look.
FLOWY MIDI & MAXI DRESSES
Let's start with my number one go-to Thanksgiving dress: the flowy and forgiving dress! Either a maxi or midi dress in a fun print or seasonal color is good to go.

MINI DRESSES
You can get the same flowy and forgiving vibe with a short-and-sassy mini dress! These dresses are well styled with tights or higher profile boots (up to or over the knee).
EMBROIDERED LACE MINI DRESS (in both GREEN and WHITE)
SWEATER DRESSES
We can't talk about fall dresses without including a few sweater dresses in the mix. I love how chic and cozy they are, seriously the holy grail of comfort and style. All of these sweater dresses are under $100 (except the tan turtleneck midi dress pictured directly below.)

Which shoes to wear
If you're wondering which shoes to wear with which dress, look no further than this pairing guide!
Ankle Boots: Higher profile ankle boots (those which come up higher on the leg) go great with dresses and jeans. Only wear tights with these if they're the same color as your shoe. Otherwise opt for a taller boot to cover your legs.

Knee High Boots: The most classic boot there is. Less of a statement than OTK boots, less everyday than flat ankle booties. Of course you can go bold with a snakeskin print boot, or bring in a western/equestrian vibe with a riding boot.
Over-The-Knee Boots: I swear by these Goodnight Macaroon OTK boots that aren't real suede but are buttery soft and fit the leg very well. You can stretch them over your knee, or slouch them down. I love these OTK boots with all four dress categories!
