Nest 8.28 Event + Summer Sale Picks
Good morning! How was everyone's weekend? Harlow and I had a hen party while Mike went over to Cherokee for a guy's gambling trip (#dadlife). We had lunch with Dee Dee and then met my friend Lauren and her boys, Bryce and Ford, at Highland Brewery so that the kids could run around while we had a beer and got a short break. (Thank you, Asheville, for having family-friendly breweries! Especially ones with outdoor play areas!) Turned out, Highland was having something called Bacon Fest which sounded like a very Saturday thing to do ha! Sunday wasn't very 'funday' but I got a lot of boring-but-necessary things done like grocery shopping, laundry, and house cleaning. I'm already sweeping leaves off my back deck several times a week and it's only August! I'm scared for what's gonna happen this fall....
Anyhoo, it's okay that I was "on" all weekend bc I get to start the week off with a fun event tonight in Biltmore! Tonight is Nest Boutique's 8.28 Is Great Event. You can click on the event link to see everything they've got planned, like special sales, a fall shopping kick-off, and a denim embroidery workshop. I can already tell you I'm all about shopping both the fall lines and their summer sale. I have to get my hands on one of these suede tees. And did y'all know they carry Spanx faux leather leggings in sizes XS-2X?!! Yippee!
I've been meaning to go to one of their workshops and haven't made it yet, so I'm super duper excited to finally put my hands to work in their gorgeous studio. Like. It's insaaaanely pretty. You can RSVP/get tickets to the event on their Facebook page here.
A few weeks back, I was honored to be asked by Susan and Millie (the awesome women who own Nest) to model some of their summer pieces for their online shop. We had the best time shooting these looks at the Biltmore gardens, sipping champagne, laughing, and trying not to melt in the intense heat. We bonded forever as sweat sisters LOL!
Some of the pieces I wore are part of their Endless Summer sale and you can get some really great deals on them. These are some of my fave pieces that you can wear now and on into fall!
Such a great layering piece for early fall weather! I can't wait to wear this over a UNC tee on football game days.

Tops with feminine details are all the rage this season. This one is super versatile to wear any time or day of the week, from office hours to off-duty weekend wear.

I'm not gonna tell you I'm on the "romp-him" bandwagon but I do think rompers are one of the most comfy things you can wear, especially when they're made out of featherweight material and come in go-with-everything black. The ruffles down the side dress this one up a bit. I LOVE an army jacket over just about anything in the fall! You can sub out the sandals for a peep-toe bootie for extra fall vibes.

Yellow (marigold, sunshine, whichever Crayola term you prefer!) is shooting up the charts on my list of fave colors to wear this fall. It looks soooo pretty with shades of blush, rose, navy, and other fall neutrals. I love this top with a pair of high-rise jeans or culottes and a chunky heeled sandal for weekend brunch or a fun night out.

TWO DRESSES FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND
How cray cray is it that Labor Day weekend is this weekend? I've got a few patriotic options in my closet for celebrating, and these dresses fit the bill perfectly.
I discovered the Fresha line at Nest and y'all it's sooo pretty and flattering! She does off-the-shoulder like nobody's business. I love this navy maxi dress and think you can still wear it after Labor Day -- just add a jean jacket.
A red dress is totally timeless! It's easy to style this casually with a long necklace and some flat sandals, but you can absolutely wear this with a blazer, tights, and heels.

I can't wait to go tonight! It's so great that they've organized an event entirely catered to the local crowd. Asheville is such a tourist destination (no complaints, just stating fact) that it's nice for a shop to welcome in their local patrons for a fun night of creativity, camaraderie, and cute clothes!
Hope to see some of y'all there! Have a wonderful Monday -- good luck out there LOL!
