Current Fave: The Wrap Skirt
I. Like. Pink. Skirts and I cannot lie! I spotted another blogger wearing a ruffled wrap skirt and started doing a little shopping recon of my own. Turns out, even though hers was J. Crew and trés adorable, I found almost the exact same skirt at ASOS in all kinds of colors for less than half the price. I was so excited to find a pink version! I love it most with a simple tank in another fun color or just a simple neutral.
Other than my bag, no part of my outfit cost more than $40. With the right accessories, styling, and fit, you can make an outfit at just about any price point look way pricier than it really is. That's the beauty of mixing high and low, and following the Tim Gunn Rule of Three: fit, balance, and proportion.
So that's my stylist brain talking. My mom brain is dying to tell you that this is such a comfy outfit to wear day or night. Flat sandals for running (chasing) after kids. Length to cover up your ass(ets) while doing mom things. No sleeves to keep it cool on hot summer days. Cute details to make it feel fun, fresh, and transition to evening for grilling out with friends or having porch drinks with the girls! (OH! Did I mention it's all machine washable?!)
Isn't it the best when something you love comes in lots of different colors?? 'Cause I kinda want all of these...
